It is not possible to find a common portable console other than Nintendo in the days when the console battles are getting hot. Analogue is facing a different project in a period when the retro console trend is gaining interest.
Analogue Pocket, based on Game Boy , brings the cartridge console concept of an era into the palm of your hand. Analogue Pocket is manufactured in high quality and offers good potential with its cartridge structure as well as two post-programmable processors.
With a 3.5-inch 1660×1400 pixel screen, the console features D-Pad, action keys, adjustment keys and rear trigger keys. The cartridge is inserted into the slot on the back of the console.
The first processor designed as FPGA simulates the Game Boy hardware, offering the same hardware architecture for games. The second processor is reserved for developers. By optimizing the kernels, they will be able to adapt different games to the console. Analogue Pocket also offers synthesizer and sequencer modules for digital music.
Compatible with Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games, the console can also emulate special cartridge adapters such as Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color and Atari Lynx. The optional Dock adds two USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity. A $ 199 price tag is set for the Analogue Pocket, which will be available next year. Prices of cartridges and accessories are not yet clear.
