Founded by Andy Rubin, co-founder of Android, Essential was opened to the world in the hope of bringing new and high quality phones to Android. Unveiled in tweets by Rubin, Project Gem products come with a design we’ve never seen on a phone before.
As you can see in the photos, the phone comes with a very long form factor and a complementary long card interface. The buttons are large and easily accessible, just like a smart watch. A large power button and volume keys are located on the side, while a fingerprint sensor recess is located underneath the single camera.
In addition to these unusual looks, the phones have a different shade in every aspect with their color-changing crates.

As confirmed by Essential speakers, the devices seen in tweets, the company’s next-generation smartphones and devices are now being delivered to the company’s off-laboratory testing teams. More information about the devices will be shared soon.
After Andy Rubin’s shares, the promotional visuals of the phones under the name of Project GEM were published from the Essential official account. There is no further information about the devices. If we look at our old information about Project GEM, the development philosophy of the device indicates that it will be a daily assistant instead of being the center of our digital life. Android code snippets detected by XDA indicate that the device activates the voice assistant when the fingerprint sensor is touched, and the assistant reduces the user’s tapping time as little as possible on the device’s small screen.
