Huawei, located in Shenzhen, southern China, is the world’s number two smartphone vendor according to 2018 results. Huawei’s latest quarterly results show that the Chinese company is doing well despite ongoing trade problems with the United States. Third quarter revenue increased 24.4% compared to the same period last year, while the company said it sold more than 185 million smartphones in the first three quarters of 2019, up 26% year on year.

Available through Android, the Google Play Store provides access to hundreds of thousands of third-party applications and games, as well as movies, books and music, and analysts said it might be difficult for Huawei to find buyers for phones outside of China without Android. However, according to Huawei, this has had little impact on smartphone sales this year.
Huawei also announced that it has signed 60 contracts with telecom operators to provide equipment for 5G networks around the world.
