The iPhone 11 series features IP68 certification , similar to the S series released last year. Although both series have the same certification of water and dust resistance, the new iPhones are much more durable.
When the 2018 iPhone models were released, they were able to withstand submersion for 30 minutes at a depth of 2 meters. Introduced this year, the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max models can stay at a depth of 4 meters 30 minutes said.
Compared to other models, the iPhone 11 has a record- breaking price and is water-resistant up to 2 meters , similar to the models introduced last year. Considering that both series have the same certification, we see that Apple improves sealing with a stronger adhesive.
iPhone 11’s water resistance was tested by CNET. This is not only limited to the Pro series, but the iPhone 11 has achieved a surprising success. The test started with 4 meters and continued up to 12 meters.
The 2019 iPhone models were able to continue working smoothly after 30 minutes at 12 meters depth . Although the sound was muffled from the speaker, this problem disappeared after the devices were dry.
The test result was noticeable detail level. After a long time underwater, both the standard and the Pro models were found to have the highest level of sound clarity compared to the same new devices.
In this context, we see that the iPhone 11 series can take underwater damage in a similar way to any other phone in the market. However, the ability to continue working at a depth of three times as high as 12 meters is a real success.
