In recent years, good news has come from Samsung, which has focused on developing fairly fast RAM and storage solutions for mobile devices. It has announced that it has started the production of eUFS 3.1 , which offers 512 GB of storage by breaking new ground in the sector.
Offering three times the speed of writing compared to 512 GB eUFS 3.0 , the new storage solution exceeds the 1 GB / s threshold. Cheol Choi, vice president of Samsung Electronics Memory Sales and Marketing, says the new storage will eliminate the bottleneck on storage on smartphones.
In addition to 512 GB, it is stated that it will be offered in 128 GB and 256 GB options during the year. The 512 GB eUFS 3.1, which can reach a sequential write speed of 1200 MB / s, thus increases the speed of 540 MB / s of the disk in a SATA-based computer to two, and the speed of the UHS-I microSD card to 10. In this way , phones that start to record 8K video will not have storage problems.
Thanks to the new storage solution, content transfer from an old phone to a new device will be completed in seconds. In terms of random read – write performance, it runs 60 percent faster than the commonly used UFS 3.0 . Talking to the numbers: it offers 100,000 input / output operations per second (IOPS) for readings and 70,000 IOPS for write operations.
