Samsung has acknowledged this vulnerability and error in the Galaxy S10, according to Reuters. According to information from the company, a security patch will be released for this vulnerability in the fingerprint reader in the coming period. Some banks in South Korea even advise their clients not to set their fingerprint as a security method until this problem is resolved .
It is not clear what causes the problem, but the Galaxy S10 uses an ultrasonic sensor to scan its fingerprints, and plastic or silicone screen protectors may affect the sensor. That’s why Samsung recommends users to use approved screensavers. No date has been specified for when the security patch will be released.
