After a long time away from cross-platform support with other gaming devices, Sony had launched a beta process with Fortnite after criticism. After a year, cross-platform support was opened to everyone.
It is very important for players to move the recording files and progress of a game played on the console device to the computer version or to move the computer version data to the console version. Thus, it can play the game on other devices without being dependent on one device or change the game device at any time.
While there is such cross-platform support between Xbox and PC games, the PS4 has been out of support for a long time. The firm, which could not withstand the criticism from last year, launched its cross-platform support in beta with Fortnite.
Rocket League, PUBG, Dauntless, Paladins, Smite and Realm Royale were involved in the beta for the last one year. Now cross-platform support is available to all developers. At the end of this month, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be on the train and we will see Disc Jam, EVE: Valkyrie, Final Fantasy XIV and Street Fighter V until the end of the year.
Sony did not provide any official explanation for cross-platform support, and only fit between the lines in an interview with Wired magazine about cloud gaming. In the near future, we can say that productions like Minecraft and Roblox will offer this support.
